Quadrill dance impro

Quadrills have been popular in several European regions from the late 18th century on and survived in northern Germany, where they're still performed in traditional dance events. They can be danced on polka, schottisch or even walz melodies and need four couples. In recent years, there's a growing community of people who dance quadrills on festivals again and connect to the initial way of dancing them in an improvised way again. A leading couple calls or leads different figures which can reach from easy walking to fast turns or even acrobatic performances. Once you have a basic toolbox an got the structure, it is great fun to improvise crazy quadrills together. We want to spread the word and the culture of this lovely dance with you. The workshop will have live music from the famous Wilde Kapelle :-)
